Cut files are SVG files, and Creative Fabrica has many SVG downloads. SVG designs also work great with CNC wood machines.
Creative Fabrica Free Cut Files
Creative Fabrica does have an excellent selection of free files you can download. The total count as of this writing is 731. For CNC wood machines, most of the designs that would work well are the sign designs. However, only some of the vector illustrations would work.
Like many other SVG sites, Creative Fabrica's goal is for you to purchase one of their subscription options. These subscriptions then give you access to millions of designs, graphics, fonts, and more which you can download.
Their subscription prices are reasonable. However, there are other add-on costs for extra features within the site. This cost is fine with me since I don't need them and would rather not pay for them as part of the essential subscription.
Their subscription also gives you many commercial rights, including the creation of physical end products. Commercial usage includes many different activities. So it's always best to double-check it for your needs.
Who is Creative Fabrica?
Creative Fabrica's goal is simple, to provide excellent resources for your projects at a fair price.
Their story is simple: "Creative Fabrica has been in Amsterdam's heart since June 2016. The founders had a design background and realized how difficult it was to find the perfect assets for a design. So they created Creative Fabrica to improve and change how people consume digital assets."
Cut files at Creative Fabrica are provided both by independent design artists and by Creative Fabrica artists themselves.
I'm Fine but the Rest of You Need Therapy Cut File
The first SVG file I chose to download was a vector sign titled I'm Fine but the Rest of You Need Therapy.
You can see the big green Download for Free button below, but you must create an account with Creative Fabrica before it works. However, once you create your account, it does download for free.
The compressed ZIP file includes separate files for the DXF, EPS, PNG, and SVG formats.
Once I extracted the files onto my PC, I created a new file in the Vectric Aspire CNC software with a simulated Cherry hardwood setting. The material was twelve inches wide by twelve inches high and one inch thick.
I imported the vector design and centered it on the material.
The first vector quality check was to review the node editor. The nodes looked clean overall. There were quite a few smooth blue-colored node points. Unfortunately, there were also some clusters of the black-colored ones.
The vector validator check revealed nearly perfect vectors. However, it did find one node intersection issue.
The last quality check is for the software to find any "open" or "duplicate" vectors. Fortunately, it did not find either of these problems, so it's time to create a toolpath.
The simplest toolpath to create is a V-Carve using the 60-degree v-bit. Again, I did not use the clearance tool option or enable the Flat Depth option.
The software created the toolpath by first displaying a warning message about the vector intersection.
The last step was to run the new toolpath using the CNC software simulator. Fortunately, the toolpath ran without problems, and the result was excellent. This cut file is a great vector design for a CNC wood sign.
Friends Are the Family You Choose Cut File
The second SVG file I chose to download was another vector sign titled Friends Are the Family You Choose.
I downloaded this design file the same as the previous one.
I created a second file in the Vectric Aspire CNC software using the same simulated Cherry hardwood settings. The material size was again twelve inches wide by twelve inches high and one inch thick.
I imported the vector design and centered it on the material. The default size of this design was a bit larger, so I resized the vectors to fit the material.
The first vector quality check was to enable the node editor. There was a nice mixture of the smooth blue-colored and the black-colored node points. But the two tiny hearts looked like they had too many smooth node points. This issue is rare in designs.
The vector validator checked revealed only four vector intersections. Lowering the letter Y in the word family would fix these. But I left them as is.
The final check was for any "open" or "duplicate" vectors in the design. The software did not find either of these problems.
The final step is to create a second V-Carve toolpath. Again, I used the 60-degree v-bit without a clearance tool. I also left unchecked the flat-depth option.
The software did display an error message about the vector intersections, but then it calculated the toolpath.
The final task was to run the new toolpath using the CNC software's simulator. This design result also turned out excellent.
"Friends Are the Family You Choose" is another attractive sign you can make for your family with the free SVG cut file from Creative Fabrica.

Reminder
You must verify all tool path settings, especially the bit settings, to ensure they are compatible with your CNC machine. Every CNC machine operates differently!
